So what major music artist do you think you most resemble? I'd like to know what most ya'll sound like when yer playin' yer ovations.

I think I'd be somehwere between ZZ Top and George Thorogood. Only worse (can it get worse?). I'am somehwere near the end of my second year of playing to give you some idea of where I'am.

I've been told that I look like a middle aged George Gobel and that my playing vaguely resembles Tiny Tim. I'm not joking. I consider those both to be compliments.

I have been told I look like Eric Clapton. One time at a pizza place in New York the girl behind the counter asked me if I was.

I've seen a few pictures where there is a slight resemblance.

I've been told that I sing like (Christian artist) Chris Rice. I think I may play most like Kevn Kinney (Drivin' n Cryin')

I discovered by attending the 06 OFC that I sing lower than Slipkid and not as loud as Moody!

In the Cafe Band I was nickmamed Gordon Lightfoot so I have been pushing more for a Mac Powell or Todd Agnew.

Well....I'm getting close to having James Taylor's hair style :(

Unfortunately, I don't have his voice to go with it.

I don't even want to describe what I sound like, but I like to pretend I am either Chris Rice (mentioned above) or Stephen Curtis Chapman (whom I can't even begin to play like).

Of course lately I am in my Chris Tomlin stage....and I do that as equally as poorly as the others.

So...I will be me, and me will be I and we are good enough for the both of us, but probably not good enough for anyone else.

I've been told my style sounds like Billy Crocket and Steven Curtis Chapman...good thing since I did a lot of studio work with for both of them in the 80's and early 90's...

My style other than Christian artist runs to Charlie Robinson, Robert Earl Keen and Pat Green...Texas Country Boys :)

Leo Kottke.
Not that I'm good, but my guitar playing follows no particular style or technique and seldom does anything get played the same way twice.

Yeah, same here, so try to keep from singing as much as possible. But hey playing like Leo makes up for that ten fold.

Again, I was impressed by Waskel's playing and even more impressed by his CD. It's an instrumental, so I can't verify the geese farts. Besides, I've never heard a goose fart. I didn't think they ever stopped shitting long enough to fart.

Just this past Sunday, my fellow brothers and sisters in Christ at the church that I go to, claimed that I added a John Denver flavor to the sound of the praise team. Unfortunately, my knowledge of Mr Denver's style and music is limited.

After weeks of being "in training," I am finally recognized a member of the praise team. Many also claimed that my mostly folk background and fingerpicking style drastically changed the praise team's sound ... I take it as a compliment, and I think change is good, considering that this is in THE city after all ... :)

My style, I would have to say, is that of the O.T. minstrel http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?book_id=12&chapter=3&verse=15&...
I don't play very well, so, I pluck each string individiually, and let the sustain of my "O" speak for itself,.. all the while,.. I have a Chet Akins expression on my face,.. like, I know, what I'm doing!!!
