I think that the point here is that this type of guitar is for collectors rather than players - from a purely practical point of view, a white case will look great if it's stored, but will look flippin awful if used as a practical gigging case.
Slightly off-topic. The main picture of EC that come up on that link looks to have had the guitar photoshopped on. I couldn't quite put my finger on why until I was looking around - guitar comes with a pickguard, yet the one he's holding doesn't...

Location: Las Vegas, Nevada | If that's a "Disco Guitar" what is the Melissa Etheridge Adamas 6 string? (I have the ME 6 string on my short shopping list to buy, by the way). Just curious. By the way, while I love Martins and own a lot of 'em, I love my Ovations too. The white EC doesn't excite me, but am sure that it does indeed sound good. I settled down the other night and enjoyed equally very much my old Legend and D-28 alternately. Both of 'em "just plain sound good". |

But really. The man's brought the world so much joy, peace, and love (except occassionally for George {take my wife, please} Harrison.) that he deserves all he has earned.
And he has always recommended players listen to Robert Johnson rather than him. |

I'd love to hear your reasoning as to why you think that was intended as racism, rather than as a comment on people who attempt to play blues but forget that it needs feel and expression.
Hey, you don't have to be white to play white boy blues, try listening to a Robert Cray album. I should really put one of those little "wink" faces here, but I can't be arsed. |

Location: Hiram, Georgia | Clapton was my first ever guitar hero, I was in my rebellious stage when "Cocaine" came out, since those days, I am sure he knows something about the "blues" having lost a son in a freak accident, failed marriages, fighting addiction. He obviously cares about people, having founded "Crossroads".
