| I have a 1773LX acoustic and when I play plugged I want the acoustic sound to be muted (to let my wife and kid sleep).
Is there a device that allows the sound from ovation guitars to be muted?
I've seen this:
http://www.guitarampkeyboard.com/options.php?id=66884
but I'm not sure it will actually reduce the acoustic volume.
Any help will be greatly appreciated. |

You could try the patented OFC tour "boot" technique. It certainly made the guitar we tried it on a lot quieter. |

I've used the FeedbackBuster for this exact purpose, and it works quite well.
I wouldn't rely on it to minimize any moderate-to-agressive strumming, but if you're just picking & noodling around, it'll keep you from having to dodge a well-aimed slipper . . . |

When my wife wants to sleep and I am playing, she requests I play, "On a hill far away...." VERY far away! |

2. Fill bowl with said stuff.
3. Presto! Silence!

It's an excellent mute. Sure it makes it a little plinky sounding, but you'll be able to practice.
I guess that's where they got the expression put a sock in it? |

| Cliff is right... I want to listen to the plugged-in guitar through headphones and minimize the the acoustic output. I'll give the feedbackbuster a try, it's only a few bucks.
Thanks everyone for the help!! |
