I just realized I had left a small super glue goober on one of my guitar tops. I remember a previous thread talking about removing this stuff, but couldn't seem to find it.

Can anyone give me the scoop on getting this off without effecting the finish?

Vince...simple IF it is the catalyzed polyester used on the O's...but I don't know if one of the solid bodies or the Storm series.

For our "roundback", use CyA (super glue) remover/thinner. Wipes right off w/o hurting the guitar's finish.

I have found inconsistency between CyA...sometimes, takes a little rubbing depending on the remover/thinner. I use StewMac's Super Glue Remover since I get the CyA from the same source.

If you get the remover/thinner from a hobby/craft store, might need a small amount of rubbing.

Still, easy.

Thanks Tony. After reading on the superglue remover tube that the first ingredient was acetone, I started picturing a nasty smudge mark in the top finish. Thats a scary thought since the top is in really good condition (Custom Legend natural finish). I guess I'll try it with a q-tip.

Tony you are a god! I have a superglue smudge as I tried fix down the epauletes on my W597 which lifted when I was back in the UK. Was really careful but still ended up with the yucky smudge on the lower one. I will go order some of that CyA right now! Cheers mate :D

Wait! A W597 is an Adamas (duh) - not sure about the finish on a CVT. Send an email to Kim.

The use and removal of CyA refers to the Ovation wood tops.
