Hi Guys! I am in the process of selling some of my O's and have a need for some shipping boxes. I live in a rural area where the local music stores don't have any and I'm wondering how to get some relatively cheaply. I called Ovation to see if they could string some together and send them to me, but they said that they cannot do that for anybody except perhaps a dealer. Any ideas?

You might try a local furniture store. Sometimes some of the "disassembled" furniture comes in boxes roughly the same size, although I have never tried it. Seems like I always had just received a new guitar so had a box for shipping the one I was selling.

While guitar boxes are the first choice you may be able to use something close. I hate to use the Packer's boxes and I can usually score a couple of Kaman boxes from a GC or Ted Brown about 20 miles away.

Sell me a nice guitar for cheap and I'll send you a packing box!

Got a florist in your area??

Wholesale florists ship certain flowers (chrysanthemums, in particular) in packed "bales" that come in guitar-sized boxes (only heftier).

Ask you local florist if they have any, or can get any from their local wholesaler for you (usually they're eager to get rid of them). . . .

Y'just have to make sure that the box is good & dry, as they tend to be exposed to damp, refrigerated conditions . . . .

I might have an extra Ovation Box I could send you.

Send me your address on email, and I'll try to get one out to you.

Same here. I've got an Ovation box I was about to throw out. It's still got Al's old newspapers in it.

When you order 100 or more they are only $6.20 ea :)

What's really fun is when they deliver the 12-bags of these...

I hate peanuts too. But when you have 2 days to pack over 100 guitars... that would have been a lot of Pizza and Cola.

Miles, in your case, understandable...

With foam glue, you could make canoes by coating the outside of the guitar boxes. At least a couple of months inventory.

When I was taking the wooden roundback to Phoenix the airline told me I had to check it, so I packed it in an Ovation box that Woody sent it in and filled it with peanuts. When I got to the checkin, they said it was too big and suggested I carry it on. I had to leave a nice Ovation box at the counter and had the peanuts all over the airport. They weren't the nonstatic kind.
