This was sold to me as a CP2001, which is marked on the label inside. That being said, I have never seen another 2001 in BCB, and Ovation says they were all made in CCB color. It has the OP24+ preamp, a limited edition inlay, gold tuners with pearl buttons and abalone border on the body and neck. This is really a pretty guitar and plays very well, with the only drawback (if it is at all) is that it is non usa and a shallow body. The reason I am asking is that the label that says it is a CP2001, looks like a sticker placed on the label in the model number place. Anyone???

Looks like the Celebrity Ltds., that were offered in 2001 on the german Ovation homepage, available in red and blue/black with epaulettes or round soundhole.

I posted a picture in my gallery (pics for posts), cause I don't know to upload a picture directly to the thread.

On these pics the Ltd.-inlay is missing. So, not sure if it is exactly your guitar.

Thanks, Kurt, the pictures you have in your gallery have a different wood than my guitar. Thats what is puzzling me. This looks kind of like African Bubinga or something with the lateral grain.

Looks like a flamed maple laminate. It sure isn't a top I saw on the MIK Ltds. that year, though one-offs and custom pieces were likely produced.

It could've been a LimitedEdition exclusively made for a vendor, like a SamAsh or aGuitarCenter . . .

Yeah, I see. I think if it were for GC it would have a "GC" in the model #, I'm not sure about Sam Ash. The thing that bothered me the most is the label. It is a regular Celeb. label with a small sticker over it in the model # line that says CP2001 so its not part of the original label. I know that being an import, it really doesn't have any collectable worth, other than the fact that it's so PURDY!! :D
