Many guitars are missing from the Ovation Discontinued Items page of thier site. I realized that if you click on the 1867 (last one listed) then click on the little right arrow under the specs it goes to the next. There are over 30 more guitars listed there that don't have links on the page. |

They still have the 1869 listed on their current models section, but it's not on the price list, and according to Kim Keller it's not a current production model. In fact, there's not a single shallow bowl or 12-string Custom Legend on the price list at all...
I don't feel so bad about MY website updates now. |

I brought up that site you mentioned..I've never heard of some of these models..a CKO47-5F?..where did that come from?..a white-top super-shallow double-neck 12-string?..the Anniversary Elite Mando is cool..never saw an older country artist with gold tuners before..a deep-bowl cutaway craftsmen Elite!..sweet..like to play the cedar-top mid-bowl classic with the rosewood fretboard, with bright Savarez strings that have a lot of heart...anyway, thanks for the info.. |

Location: Budd Lake, NJ | I had read through the list awhile back, and I don't remember the last bunch being there. There's been a lot already written about why the "Storm" series ones aren't on that list--and that's a real shame. I've had two Tornados, and the one I have now can proudly hold its headstock up with a friend's 335 (which he paid quite considerably more for.) Is there anything we can do so that the mothership will take credit for these fine instruments? (As in, put them into the history--IMHO they sure deserve to be.......)

Location: Chehalis, Washington | Yep, the site has WAY more than is actually available. If you download the 2006 catalog, there's a LOT less on it than is on the actual site.
Maybe Ovation will decide one day to better coordinate the two. It should only need to be updated once a year (on a large scale), which they have to do anyway. You wouldn't think it would be that hard to make sure all the correct models are in the right place.
Probably why I'm in the bakery business instead of web design... |

Location: Chehalis, Washington | Sure, in fact, for my insurance company, I had to get a quote on what it would cost to build an 1869 to the same specs as my '94 that was stolen...bottom line was over $3000 factory retail price for a custom order on that guitar.
Then again, I'm more of a mind to trawl ebay instead... |
