Location: Cherry Hill, NJ | I'm are spending some time in Tokyo, and while checking out the music stores, I've seen a good deal of rack space dedicated to Ovations. Interesting, the Celebriy line here is made in China. I know that in the US Celebs are Korean made, but I guess as things go, Ovation's taking advantage of the labor in China for it's Celebrity line. The US made O's here are quite pricey. |

Take a look around and see if there you can find the CSD-215 model doubleneck anywhere. It's not the Celebrity Black Sunburst model we have in the US but is transparent Black, Blue, Naural or Sunburst.

Location: boulder | Don't drink the milk. it's not pasteurized and will taste sour to you (most likely). Your flag should be when they ask you whether you want your milk warm or cold. When you say cold, and they bring you warm milk with ice cubes, that should be your second flag. Don't think about returning it. that's rude. besides you will pay for the glass of milk anyway since you ordered it.
Don't eat on the street, it's rude. and they have no public trash cans, so once you finish unwrapping your elaboratly wrapped food, there is no place to throw the trash. (why would there be-no one eats in public).
Try and visit the imperial palace grounds-most expensive land on the planet for awhile. the shopping rocks in tokyo-unless you want some fruit. can you tell I visited there once?
Some of the nicest people I ever met lived in Nagano, Japan.
maybe you will see a N768 craftsman. I have not seen any states side. only two N769 craftsman (I have one). have fun, peace mike |

Location: Pewaukee, WI | All of the new Celebrities that I've seen at GC have been made in China. The OP-20 has been replaced with a preamp that displays the note letter in a window (like the Op-Pro display) with a separate battery compartment (as in the old Op-24 style).

Go down to atami and stay at a high end onsen.

Randy Far as I know, the "older" celebs were made in Korea and the newer ones are made in China (like everything in the US is) Labor must be cheaper in China, probably because Hyundai got so popular. |

| So, Ovation guitars have now been made in the USA, Mexico, Korea, Japan, Germany, and now China. Have I missed a country somewhere along the way? As I undertsand it the German O's are the rarest guitars, right? |

| I am actually interested in finding a Celeb. doubleneck that is not the standard "Red" we here in the states seem to be stuck with.
I am told the oversea's market has many colors to choose from in the doubleneck. I have seen a photo of one in a nice blue color and a charcoal and both of these are transparent so you can see the nice wood as well. Can't swing an Adamas do not see the value in a $4,500 Elite doubleneck and I do not care for the Red color all the 225's and 255's have. Anyone have any idea where someone from the US could find one of these ???

I actually threw the request out to Tommy with you in mind ;)
Try contacting 45Flint, according to an old post in the archive's, he had info on a source in Japan that could get a CSD-215 for about $1300.
He has a flame version of the CSD-215 that he got off fleabay.
Good luck

Location: Cherry Hill, NJ | One thing I notice is that any USA made O's or Fenders, are displayed with a large tag, stating USA made, Mexico or whatever country manufactured in. Seems the Japanese are very aware of the differance in quality. And the price shows it. |

| OK found a few of the 215's in Japan. Using a translated page I found the price which is not as bad as I thought but I see no way I will be doing business overseas like this. It wold take me ten years to figure out how to contact someone if my money was ripped off, or if the guitar was busted. Shipping is not cheap either and at best very risky.
Question?? What is the difference between the CSD-225 and the 255??? Does one have a mid depth bowl?? I hope I hope??? Found one with what appears to be a very dark red finish.?? |

| Jees went back in to get some serial numbers to continue searching ... I am not sure how but I did not see this post for a doubleneck Steve??? I sent an email perhaps this guitar is still available? Email me. I am interested in any of the double necks that are not the standard red celebrity color. Duhhh just remembered I was on a trip with work for 4 days.
