Location: Upstate NY | Can't seem to find any history/information on the Legend model 1767 other than the year of manufacture supplied by Ovation's homepage. I bought one used in immaculate condition 2 days ago for $550.00. Just very curious where I can get other information in rgerads to reviews etc.. |

| I bought a 1992 1767 Legend (white label) from a collector in Phoenix.($600plus) He also had an earlier model 1767 (blue label) he used for his personal guitar. Both have the OP24 electronics. |

Location: Upstate NY | mine has the blue label. Can you give me a little more info on the electronics? Is it the same pick-up they used in '68?
Thanks |

Location: SoCal | Crick, there was no pickup in '68. Despite all the literature that's been out over the last year regarding the reissue models, Ovation didn't come out with their first p/u until 1972.
The 1767 Legend is a deep bowl cutaway. It's either got the stacked volume tone control on the waist of the guitar or an OP 24. Either way, it's a great guitar and at about 20 years old, probably has a great sound. |

Location: Upstate NY | Thanks for the help....I'm new to Ovation..always wanted one, but had bought a Martin DM first. So, at the risk of sounding very stupid, can someone break down what the OP24 pickup is for me? the guitar has a volume and equalizer on top. It does sound and play great. It looks like the previous owner took very special care of it. |

| Basically a 9volt-powered active preamp with:
1)Volume control
2)bass/mid/treble graphic EQ attenuator.
I have a 1992 silver label Legend with OP24. The 9volt battery only discharges when the guitar chord is plugged in, or the battery check button is pressed. |

Location: Minden, Nebraska | Welcome to the club. Your member number is nearly as high as the number of posts from a few of us.... 5000 and growing.
The 1767 is a nice guitar, having all the features of the 1867 but with a deep bowl.
The OP24 preamp is an active system as Steve described, and was the standard for Ovation for nearly a decade. Some still like it the best, as it is very reliable and clean. |
