sounds like it was not repaired correctly and the intonation is off.

is the top cracked?? try using a external tunner and plug a patch cord into your 1/4in output jack on your guitar and plug it in to the tuner..or tune the low "E" 6th string to pitch,then fret the 6th string 5th fret and tune the 5thstring to the same pitch as the 6th string freted at the 5th fret,do the same with each string all the way across..that might work..just a idea..jason

Hi Kalel...John here.
First of all, is this an Ovation? I don't believe you made that clear. Assuming it is, is it a USA-made Ovation? What model? What's the serial#?
The reason I ask is, if it's of some value (and we would know if you gave us this info) you could have it fixed by our good friends at the factory.
You have to be picky about who works on your guitar. Ovations are non-standard enough that I don't even think about letting anyone but the guys at Ovation repair mine. You may not want this to cost any $, but if it's important enough to you...you should just suck it up. John <>{

kalel,
i dun cr wat u say u r a txter nt a typr. Anyhow, superglue can only do so much to rescue a guitar. I'd say the guitar has evolved into a fine beach/camping/snowboarding weekend guitar, enjoy it as such. Some people are bothered when the intonation is off, and others aren't. For me it depends were I am. Playing in a punk rock band or on a snowboarding weekend, it's really not an issue.

Kalel, since the repair didn't work. You should now ask the person who broke your guitar to buy it from you and get another. You tried to be nice, but your friend has caused you some trouble that he needs to fix.

I've got 2 celebs that I picked up at a garage sale... both have their share of nicks and cuts, but sound just fine. I'd be willing to lend you one for your class until you come up with something better. They're just taking up space here. I'm going to sell them eventually on ebay, but there are way too many on there now.

It'll give Jason a chance to finish his up and then you can figure out what you want to do.

What brought you to La Pine? Next time you come here let me know. I want another Ovation owner to evaluate my Preacher Deluxe.

My wife, daughter and I took an in-state road trip vacation last month. Saw friends in Bend, went to Crater Lake, Oregon caves, redwoods, then back up the coast. We were going to stay in the Lapine Best Western but it was full. Wound up in that crappy place next to the truck stop.
I'll keep you in mind next time we're over, probably take the bike over through Sisters next spring.

Does it cost to send text messages? You might look into saving some money there.

I waited for Dave to be rude before I said what I was thinking several posts ago.
