Location: PDX | I just picked up a 97C (thanks Steve)and i find the electronics are no more than a strip of PCB glued to the bass side of the body. What's up with that? Just plain wierd to me. Sound is great, it's just weird.

Location: Wooster, Ohio | Actually that peice that is glued to the base side is the touch controls. The volume is adjusted by putting your fingers on those outside strips. The actual preamp is part of the endplug I believe. I thought the touch stuff was cool but some don't like it.

It's a blast to use, and it's only a couple of miles away John. Drop by any time.
Steve, i'll take your word for it, i can't see the endpin with the strings on. Man, this is one fun little guitar. Unplugged it has a very petite voice that is really sweet. But plugged in it just comes alive.

However, I like the fact that I can look down at the round volume knob and see where it is - .."hmm..it's at 7, so if this idiot drummer get's energetic, or if the soundguy turns me down in the monitor, I have a little more..." You have volume there, but you cant tell how much by looking at it. I suppose since it's a 'Parlor' guitar, and your mostly going to play it in your 'Parlor' with maybe a tamborine and konga player, ...in the 'Parlor'.. and won't be gigging with it too much, it won't be an issue. |

Once I get a few of these projects out of the way, maybe I'll get to take you up on that, Greg. More than a couple miles, though. Lately I-84 or McLoughlin the closest I come to your house. I'll try to get some time free soon. |

Location: Phoenix AZ | I used to own one. The TS controls are a cool idea. But at least on my guitar, the transfer of "idea" into something that actually worked left a lot to be desired. There is probably a reason that you never saw it on any subsequent models. I ended up by passing the thing and going straight out the endpin. Dave |

Location: Warren,Pa. | I recently restrung mine with high-octave strings (Nashville Tuning). What a sweet sound.
I play 2nd guitar at weekend gatherings at our church, and I always play the 1115. When I saw the songlist for last week I could hear this pretty little sound in my mind to add to a couple of the more intimate songs. Boy did this little guitar fit the bill!
That's the best working use I've found for my '97 so far. Really sweet with the high strings. John <>{ |
