Location: Chicago | Hey guys,
I'm starting to have issues with humidity now that the heat is being turned on. How are Elites supposed to be humidified? The offset soundholes are tricky. How do you guys take care of it? Should this be done in case only or is there something for the whole room? |

Location: Chicago | Would taking off the back cover and putting in a ready-made humidifier a good idea? |

| Woz made small humidifiers out of 35mm film canisters with a bit of sponge and a few holes. I do the same thing using old prescription bottles, most of the time here in FL too little humidity is rarely the problem, except for 3 or 4 weeks out of the year when we actually have to turn on the heat.
just about there now..

Location: Boise, Idaho | The Ute I bought from Alaskan Fly Guy had a humidifier in the case, made by punching holes in a soap case made to carry bars of soap when you travel, with a little sponge in it. I just use a room humidifier in the basement, where I hang the guitars. |

Location: Keepin' It Weird in Portland, OR | Pease keep the advice coming! Okay? I have just had to turn-on my electric heat, here in the Great Northwest, so I am concerned for my Korean O. E-heat dries MY skin out. So it probably ain't good for the acoustic. The soap in the case sounds good, and affordable. Wouldn't that possibly cause the carpet in my OHSC to mildew? Hate to damage my new toy. But no furry wildlife either. All advice appreciated... |

Location: Utah | I use a piece of sponge inside a zip lock sandwich bag with lots of holes punched in it with a paper punch. Wet the sponge and then squeeze it just about as dry as you can. |

Location: NW NJ | I REALLY like and have had great luck with these. Almost as cheap as punching holes in a soap dish, and the clay inside "holds its water" great. You soak it in water and the clay inside soaks up water. Shake off the excess water and put it in the accessory compartment in the case. I add water about every month or two. Cost $3.50 from ZZounds and the friend.

Location: Hicksville, NY | Dampits work great for me ... as mentioned above, they're very good for guitars with multiple sound holes. For my one and only O that has a center sound hole, I use the one that suspends in between the 3rd and 4th strings by Planet Waves. It comes with a syringe where I can refill it with distilled water on a regular basis.
