Location: GATLINBURG TENNESSEE :) | OK ... With all the talk we've had about GAS and the size of our ...ummm...collections, and what would be the one guitar we would keep, I thought it fitting to ask this one:
What would it take to make your collection complete, and make you satisfied? Our wives may be interested in knowing the answer to this one. |

Location: East Wenatchee, WA | I could be happy with the 2080 if I had to. I only had my Korean Fender Acoustic/Electric for a couple of decades and was happy with that.
If I decide to retire in a motorhome (we lived in one for a year and loved it), it will probably be something like the 2080, but I would let the 1537 go as it is under played and requires a bit of upkeep that the Adamas don't.
For that matter, I was happy as a clam in sauce with the W597. Only reason I bought the 2080 is everyone thought it was better, and I have never bought a guitar for over $1K before.
I would likely just sell all my PA equipment, keep my Barbetta keyboard amp, a couple of mic, and my wifes Roland XP50. Maybe the Tascam 2488.
That would give me a total combo set up with 12 channels (or more if I needed it) that would fill a small venue and all fit behind the seat of my Toyota Xcab pickup. Life would be much less complicated. |

For me, a Brazilian Rosewood Roy Rogers. Of course, should I get that, then there will be another one. Yossarian rules. |

- an Old Style Folklore (which wish will soon be satisfied with the Josh White Reissue)
- #47 (that I am also waiting for)
- 1681-7 with wide neck, acoustic only.
That's it? Yes, for now.
But I know, there will be these voices again... |

If that wasn't possible, then a #47RI with state of the art electronics. |

Lost Art Vintage Limited Ovation
FD-14
Hamer Improv
Martin 00-25K
With those i would have out (the rest would be sold off):
two 1547's
'97 Collectors
Lost Art Vintage Limited Ovation
FD-14
Hamer Improv
Martin 00-25K
That would do it. Although i certainly would like to try out the other flavors. But i doubt they would add much, and i'd end up selling them off.

And I have obtained guitars that I never thought would be possible. Joe said it best - "Life's been good to me so far ..."

The OFC guitar is right up there, but I know that there may always be something better right around the corner. I trust Ovation to make sure I don't get bored. I may also get to the point that some of you have passed, where I can say I've had that special guitar, now it's someone else's turn. I have to have something to do when I retire and it doesn't look like golf is going to do it for me. |

it is a traditional Polish song sung at the cemetary at the burial. |

Location: Capital District, NY, USA Minor Outlying Islands | I suppose since I try to keep less than 6 guitars at a time, and get rid of those I don't play in a six month period I'm limited to keeping guitars I want to play forever. So I'm very happy with my 1976 CA 1624 and my 2003 MEWP. The CA has the most awesome aged fet preamp sound and the MEWP is a great player.
The one thing missing, acoustically, would be an acoustic resonator like CWK2's. (Which I know I'll never have, but man that was great. I suppose I could have the factory make one, but I'd be spending money I don't have at the moment.)
Maybe a baritone would be nice too.
Electricly, I've found my humbucker guitar, which is my electric papoose. That baby is like picasso, either you love him or hate him. Weird, but no one is in the middle of the road on that little guy.
I'm still searching for my single coil. I'm hoping my current parts-o-caster project will fill my need. I'm putting it together this weekend and will have it set-up next week. I'll let you know how it goes.
This was a nice thing to think about.
Thanks |

Over time I'd like to accumulate:

a 6-string acoustic/electric - got it!

a hollowbody electric - got it!

a resonator

a solidbody electric

a nylon-string

a 12-string acoustic/electric (like tdeej's amazing W598!)
|

one of the 92 D-45s
but these are just investments that you can play. The thing my collection really needs is more exercise time from me.
Actually, the real answer is that no collection is ever complete. |

| I saw a photo of the factory tour from last year?? year before?? anyway must-a been 70 or more Ovations of every style and color.
That would do it for me. Well that and a nice Vintage Rickenbacker electric 12 string in almost any flavor. |

Our wives may be interested in knowing the answer to this one. My wife was very pleased with my decision not to have any more guitars last January of this year, when I acquired the HD-28. Then along came the Tak 3 months later, and then followed by the beat-up DX-1 a month after that, and she almost end up throwing my guitars away ... fortunately, I managed to talk her out it. Months passed, and she had completely forgotten all about it. I'm still hoping to have a companion for my one and only O ... but that's another story with the wife!! :D |

Location: Budd Lake, NJ | I have enough guitars right now if I'm honest about it. 5 Ovations, 1 Strat, 1 Guild, 1 Steinberger bass. Jack's bluegrass crew: 1 mandolin (which I can play enough to have fun), 1 banjo, 1 fiddle. There isn't anything I need--but if I didn't have to replace the roof I'd get another shallow baby done in Autumn Burst to be my "drag-around-in-all-kinds-of-weather" player. (And actually, I find the idea of an Ovation banjo and an Ovation fiddle kind of fascinating. I wonder what a fiddle would sound like if it had an LX body and either a koa or cedar top..........)

Location: Wooster, Ohio | I think I just got it. A CA X body OM composite guitar. Been playing it for about two weeks. Half the size of my 1987 Collectors and I and my wife tonight thinks it sounds better. I think the world is divided into two kinds of people: ones that have played this guitar and ones that have not. No, the 1987 Collectors is not for sale, still love that guitar.
