New guy here. Finally doing some research on my guitar. After 18 years I just now discovered what it actually is. Not really in the market to sell, but was curious what a general value it is worth. Its in mint condition and only been played 3 times in the last 18 years. Always in case. Crash

Crash, you have a serious collector in the Ovation world, and for all practial purposes it is virtually irreplacable at any price..Ovation probably doesn't have the original molds, and if so, they would have to tool-up at quite an expense to manufactutre that particular instrument. Never sell. Period.

Steve,

Breadwinners are mahogany... no molds... :p :D :p :p

Crash,

The "Limited"s come up from time to time ranging in price from $500-$1500. Dead-mint and working has it's merrits, but a "player" can also be worth a grand (or more). It seems to go in cycles. The real crime here is in your closet with that guitar. Pull it out, change the strings, replace the batteries and ROCK OUT MAN!!! There is a "guide" on to how to get many different sounds from them at www.ovationtribute.

Have fun!!

Hey Slot Head, Yep, I understand, just figure the tooling process would have included something like that; I've got an original mahogany Deacon, and I think the 'limited' body style was way ahead of it's time and even rivals the 'strat'..but I'm a hopeless die-hard, old-school Ovation geezer.. :)

I know its a crime to leave it in the closet !! I bought the guitar waaaay back when just because it was a solid body Ovation and I had never seen one before. Not necessarily as an "investment" but just cause I liked it. I know I get "pissy" when people buy new H-Ds and custom bikes and never ride 'em. I would love to sell it to somweone that would put it to use, but at this point, also looking to see what its "highest value" is. Hope that doesn't sound wrong.

Collectible is collectible. Rare is rare. Unique is unique. As I understand it the Breadwinner Limited was manufactured in a small quantity for a bried period of time. For example, the Martin D-28 Cutaway, Oval sound hole guitar was a model only manufactured a few years, so whether it was popular or not, it is rare. The Breadwinner Limted is rare by the same standards. If you're not in a hurry to sell it, then when you do, milk it for all it's worth. Especially if it's in mint condiition and the only one you have. They don't come along very often as it is, but to have one in original condition, it is a premium instrument. Period.

And, well, art is art, isn't it? Still, on the other hand, water is water! And east is east and west is west and if you take cranberries and stew them like applesauce they taste much more like prunes than rhubarb does.
