Location: Phoenix AZ | OK, the Nov. 1st submission deadline has come and gone. Thanks to those who sent in their stuff. It's going to be a good CD.
I've had inquiries like "Is it too late", "Oh crap I forgot", "My dog ate the tape", etc. Well, hanging around the OFC for some 4+ years you learn one thing ... Pad yourself some extra time. Sooooo ...
NO IT'S NOT TOO LATE. But seriously, I need your stuff within the next week. Some folks have submitted holiday tunes and it's going to look real bad if we don't get this thing mailed out until January. SO GET GOING.
Don't be SHY. Don't be INTIMIDATED. Just do it. Some of us (not me) are real pros and put together some great stuff. Others (like me) are just hackers. It's all good. Submissions so far include some originals (some with vocals), cover tunes, some holiday stuff. A really good mix. As I said earlier, copyrighted cover tunes are A-OK, and I'll bury the license fees in the cost of the CD (which means not TOO many covers will make it to final selection). I'm also working on some special "guests".
SO GET GOING, WILL YA ???

That was Moody's excuse, and look what happened to Charlie . . . |

I offically concede, here and now, that you have bigger, hairier (that's a no-brainer) balls than do I. Had I even been evil enough to generate that thought, I wouldn't have the stones to post it...
Hail, Cliff.

Location: south east Michigan | Well...I got my disc out priority mail today.
I'm not as happy with it as I would like to be but K-Sarah-Sarah. If one of them fits into the mix, fine. If not, that's fine too.
BrianT & I worked with a Lexicon/Cuebase system. It was kinda new to both of us and this was not a good time to do the "learning curve" thing. We worked harder trying to get by the qwerks of the program than the music itself.
I think I'll put my portable Korg unit up on e-bay and invest in a computer based system.
It's fun to multi-track and and add layers of guitar and vocals.
Hopefully for next years disc I'll be able to just go to the library I've built up and send something in. |

Another way to look at it ... IF in the last year I had spent even 20% of the hours that I have been on this forum, instead using that time to hone my performance and recoding skills, maybe I'd actually have something pretty good to share. or maybe not. We all have our limits, no matter how much time, effort or money you throw at it.

You note that you purchased it in 1972. The specs state, however, that it was manufactured in 1974. Which is it? Is this a 71 or a 74? Just curious. God, I love that particualr model... Simply the best sound of 'em all! |

Yup. Amazingly good, as usual. I'll post a list in the next few days of who has submitted. This CD is going to be really nice, if I do say so myself. Tremendous variety, far more so than Vol.1 and the list of performers will surprise you.

Sorry that it took so long
(and even "sorry-er" that it IS so long).
I'll have a "comp" on the label for your approval shortly . . |

The CD is probably here in the office. I'm too busy on the OFC board to actually walk down to the mail room. It'll have to wait until 2 pm when the crippled kid comes in and delivers the mail to me.
