Location: Connecticut | How much would you pay for a Balladeer Wooden round back? I am not sure of the condition, but I think this guy didn't gig with his guitars, so I bet it is in decent shape. I think his wife is selling it for $650. |

Who here has P.O.'d the little woman so bad that she'd sell THE Wooden Roundback when you're not looking? Where was it last and how do we initiate an intervention/rescue? |

Location: Campbell River, British Columbia | Sorry, just doing my rude little bit to inject humour. There is a 'wooden roundback guitar' making the rounds of the membership here as part of a 'friendship tour.
Others could speak with more authority on the subject, but if it's a wooden roundback it's not an Ovation. Any links? |

Location: Connecticut | I don't sorry. well, this lady I bought my viper from and she doesn't know much about guitars. But she said it is a balladeer and its all wood. She could be mistakened. who knows. |

Location: Upper Left USA | Zal,
There are some non-Ovation wooden Roundbacks that were made in asia. Usually have a lot of MOP inlay work. Not to be confused with Ovations.
One of our Members, Jeff W, has sent one of those on a journey between OFC Members and it is lovingly referred to as "The Wooden Roundback".
If any one of us saw it listed on Ebay we would form a posse and bring a rope...
Well, if it was on the Left Coast. On the east coast they'd pile into a large Caddy with shovels in the trunk. |

Location: NJ | There was another one up at the Factory that was built by a guy that used to work "on the line".
I think he sold it to a music store up in CT . . . |

Location: Connecticut | on the line? factory assembly line? But still not a legit Ovation. Thanks for the info. So this lady does not have an Ovation. Also, is the porridge ($650) too hot, too cold or just right? I will find photos and post them. |

Location: NJ | I had pictures of it in an old Gallery from the first Tour/Jam (it was sitting in MasterKeller's office), but for some reason, that Gallery's now "gone". The back was made up of bent wooden staves (like a barrel) with abalone in-between. Was actually pretty cool. It had an Applause-shaped headstock, too.
I remember that the guy who built it was on the Board here a coupla' times, and said the he decided to just "let it go", and it went to some local music store . . .
I'll see if I can find the picture somewhere . . . |

Location: SoCal | I had called the store (Guitar Center) and, if I remember correctly, the manager said they were asking $2,500 but might come down a few dollars.
Unknown if it was sold. |
