The mint-condition 1769 CL I traded to GC for the 05 Collector's is finally hanging on their wall "for sale". They have it tagged at $1,200. I'll be stunned if they get that much for it unless a Cadillac Green aficionado happens to stumble in... |

Location: Canton (Detroit), MI | JJ, saw it and played it.....your assessment is my assessment, also. Very nice git-fiddle, but not worth anywhere near $1200(and, yes, I noticed it was the notorious Cadillac Green). They also have an approximately 10-year-old Legend (1767, I believe) that they have $999(!) on. In their dreams.....I saw a NOS 1777 at Motor City Guitar yesterday for LESS than that.

Location: Keepin' It Weird in Portland, OR | Music stores are strange sometimes. The reason that I bought my 4861 is cuz I tried an O at the store, and I LIKED it. Then I saw one for $499.99. They said MSRP was $999.99. I did research, and it wasn't even what they claimed it to be. It was a Celebrity. Plus I could get it online for $350+/-, free s/h. So I bought mine on E-baaa from a private citizen. He's happy, I'm Happy. Not corporations involved. Stores figger:
"So, it's an Ovation! It's gotta be worth over a grand." |

Location: Detroit area | Hmmm, I didn't notice the old Legend. The 1617 I have is a beauty.
They marked up my CL by about $300. Still can't figure out why they dropped the price so much on the 05 Collector's I bought there. Doesn't make sense. |

| I don't think these stores do much research on Ovations, and I wonder what kind of arrangement they have with the factory, if any...as far as a 1767 Legend, mine is a '92 and was in mint conditon, cost me a little over $600.. |

Location: Canton (Detroit), MI | Joey Joe, the price was dropped so much on the 2005-ES you bought because they were DESPERATE to move that guitar....it had been there since June of 2005!!!!! I bought the first one they got in, and I remember when the one you have came in, too. 16 months is an unacceptably long stock time in a Guitar Center, they want to see instruments go within six months, usually.
Your Cadillac Green CL is still there, I saw it this evening.
