Location: ranson, wva | hey thanks!!! my skills are somewhat limited by the tools i have since i my workshop was robbed last month. i did all the work on it with a few hand tools i had left..excato knife,2 peices of ply for the clamping surface and alot of sanding!! the hardest part was getting the cruve just right where the lip is..
i think they came with walnut on the headstock but i couldnt find a peice of walnut veneer that looked right. i used some nice mahog..thanks jason |

Location: ranson, wva | i paid $50 for it,veneer was $20,.ive got $70 and probly like a total 0f 20hrs in to it to date. the most time consuming prosess was filling the top cracks...scrape,clean,glue,wet sand, repeat as needed....
i may add a 2knob preamp to this one...who knows. i was gonna sell it but i strung it today and it plays like a dream..jason |

Location: ranson, wva | this top is sound, its just ugly as hell, ive got it strung with extra lights and it sounds fine...just this one aint gonna have much of a resale value..i might keep it for a "autograph book" to be sighned at gatherings and such...who knows...if it was a natural finish the crack wouldnt look near as bad..as for the lable its the foil label, it was buitl in '71...it sounds great....thats why i realy dont wanna retop....jason |

but if do decide bestow it upon an Ofcer for Xmas, that Kalel kid has a friend that can thoroughly destroy a top! |

Location: Alberta, Canada | Jason, I think you should keep that guitar and use it as a yardstick for your Luthier projects. I call that an "Appreciation Guitar". As you progress with your projects, pull this one down and compare where you're at and where you were at with this one. It will give you an appreciation of where you are improving. And 20 years down the road you still have a guitar for the beach or the "new player you're are showing how to play their first "D" or "G". And who knows, maybe someday you'll pull it down and bring it up to where you're at then. Guitars with history are "cool"!
