Location: Wooster, Ohio | I am sure this has been discussed but my searchs didn't pull anything easily. I have used phosphorous bronze strings on my wood top guitars for years. I put these on a composite top guitar and didn't really like it. Do those of you with Adamas guitars find one type of string works better with these guitars.
Thanks,
Steve |

Location: Orange County, California | D'Addario EJ16's are remarkably like Adamas 1818's and are my all around favorite general purpose string for both wood-tops and composite (Adamas) guitars. The EXP16's are coated (constructed much like Elixir Nanowebs) and sound pretty good, maybe *a little* less bright. There's a set on Noah's FD-14 that are God-only-knows how old and still sound OK, so I can speak for their longevity. These BTW are what come stock on Ovations (the ones with the pretty colored ball ends). Let's assume you are talking about you CA Model X. They ship with Nanowebs, which I don't care for. What model strings are we talking about here? How old were they (in the package) when you put them on? Did you feel they were bright, dull, or mid-heavy? Did they make the guitar sound like cardboard or plastic?
We'll get to the bottom of this one way or another :p :D :p :D |

Fred, what strings would you like on the FD-14?
I'll drive over to your house and change them for you :D |

I did a similar "Adamas Strings" search and got 56 hits. |

Sometimes (instead of relying on others' recommendations) it's better to Trial&Err and see what drives the top of your particular guitar the way that sounds best to you . . . |

I wasn't about to just let that guitar sit in it's case for a week. It's a nice one, Mark, welcome to come visit anytime. |

Location: Wooster, Ohio | These strings could have been several years old but were in the plastic sealed cover. They just seemed dark to me. I must be search impaired, I got over 50 matches when I did the adamas string search.
