| I've got a few big and small boxes of NOS and used parts on the way from WA and CT,(enough for 2 solid-bodies), they'll be here before Christmas..... don't know if they'll be guitars BY Christmas tho...
and All of my debts and bills will be paid in full before Christmas. Plus the 2985 will be going up to CT for neck RA, and restoration(after the New Year), which makes everyone happy.

I was recently made an early Christmas gift of a silver DS 587-X Adamas 6-string LongNeck.
The walnut neck's got a bit of a patina of talcum powder, but it plays REALLY nice and just "stonks" sound-wise (especially with airlocks in the four treble soundholes).

In TN, where I had room, it was old cheap DIY cars and motorcycles. I live in a studio... So it was Audio equip, then Computer stuff, then Samurai Swords. Now Guitars.
I will probably buy myself another guitar. I just got one for my Burst-Day. I keep lurking on the Baaa, but once they get expensive (reasonably-priced to rich-folks) common sense creeps in. |

So UPS drops the box off today and its been sitting warming up. It does not look like a guitar box.
While I was talking to Fred on the phone, I was joking around and wrote on the box, "to Lady Noah, with all my love".
Lady Noah comes home, sees the box... and really thinks I got her something "really big". She gave me the hugs and kisses. She wants to wait until Christmas to open it. I told her that it would be best to open it sooner. She said, ok she'll wait until Hanukkah.
I really screwed up. |

This whole "going electric" thing is new for me. Its opening up a whole new world of sounds. Absolutely amazing. I found a used Mesa F100 combo amp. The Epi played through the Mesa is just like butter. When I play them its just like sitting in room filled with guitar sex. Hours seem like minutes.
Depending on how things go on eBay, that's going to be my Christmas present to myself. |

The reviews are mixed on the tone control. What does it do and how do you like it? |

On another note, the Varitone on the 137 acts like the description in Omaha's post. The thing is (on mine anyway) is that all the non-bypass positions are waaay quieter than the bypass position. That'll keep the sound guy on his toes (or the audience, if the sound guy is AATW).

Location: New York, NY | I'm having a telecaster built for me by an awesome NYC luthier named Richie Baxt. He's making me a white 52 tele with a p90 in the neck and standard 52 pickup in the bridge, a bigsby, and this funky silver paisley pickguard I picked up on the 'bay. I'm psyched! :)

Looks like my Christmas has peeked early. Now I'm using the guitar as a painkiller to distract from waiting for an appointment to get a root canal...( "Well, we don't have the referal from your dentist yet,; but currently we're booking appointments for February and March")
If I was allowed to play in bed I wouldn't need the ibuprofen to sleep!  |

and prone to find every fault possible with it....
Dentists are not part of the program. They are independant businessmen
like most other professionals. I do have dental insurance,
so the $2000+ won't be that big a bite to me.
The medical plan is a good idea and works fairly well, actually.
(it really pains me to say even that much) However, it is not economically sustainable.
The medical system currently eats
about 40% of the provincial budget and it's continuing to rise.
There just plain....

Location: Pacific Northwest Inland Empire | I think I'm making it just-under-the-wire. Looks like I have a worthy project here. Actually, I have a gizmo that un-twists necks. Did it on the Ugly Duckling, and that was a 5-piece 1615 wide-neck. The rest of the replacement parts shouldn't be much of a problem.
