Yesterday, 2 of my 9 longitudinal braces on the underside of my Adamas 1597 soundboard, came loose. Now they vibrate horribly and the guitar is unplayable. I'v never had a structural problem with an O before so I'm looking for some advice. I bought this beauty off Ebay 3 years ago in like-new condition.

Is it safe to assume this is going to cost me $$ to have fixed? In other words, I assume the Ovations don't come with a life time warranty...especially for 2nd owners. Do I need to send it to the Mother ship for repair or is a local luthier OK?

Any helpful advice appreciated.

Jim

I think I speak for OFCers everywhere when I say this:

You should have gotten a Taylor.

Don't think so Jim, but if you get Craftsman tools to repair it...

Actually should be an easy fix for a local luthier as long as you know that he is competent. I had my local fix a brace for me and it was well under $100.

Lifetime Warranty for anything that fails for the Original Owner. customer service is well tooled and able to deal with any issues quickly and appropriately.

My bet is that shipping costs more than the repair. A local authorized Repair might be in line.
