Location: NJ | I know this is a take off of the least favorte chord thread but I thought it may be fun.
whenever I write a tune I almost always work a m7 or maj7 in the mix. something about the sounds of those chords I really like.
anyone else? |

Location: Tucson, AZ | ...not a single chord, but rather a chord-shape! I dig the sound/versatility of the (X)7#5b9 chord shape:
example: G7#5b9
E|---o- b9
B|---o- #5
G|---o- 3
D|--o-- 7
A|----- x
E|--o-- R
...depending upon BASS note used, it can "be" six different chords(!):
_C-bass = C9
Bb-bass = Gm6
_A-bass = Gm6/9
_G-bass = Em7-5 and Gm6
Gb-bass = F#7-5-9 and GmMaj13
_F-bass = FMaj13 |

Location: GA USA | I've been substituting A2 for A more lately. Not just the 0-0-2-2-0-0 version, but the x-0-7-6-0-0 as well.
This Christmas I've been playing "Angels We Have Heard On High", mostly with A2 and E (with one E7), but with capo on 3rd, so it's really C2-G etc. It has a cool, modern sound to it. |

I had to share this program. Costs about $15 as a downloadable file and has over 7000 chords. It is a great tool for whenever you see a chord that you don't know or you can click on the notes in question and it will give you the chord name.
Very well done professional product for a dirt cheap price. |
