I've had aching finger joints for several days without no obvious reason, until last night. I woke up realizing I was playing guitar in my dream, and the fingers were working real hard both picking and fretting so I felt the strain in the joints. Is this a good or a bad sign? Do I play to much or to little? Any similar experiences? :)

don't know Hobby, but Vallery B. stated on the Johnny Carson show in 1991 that Eddie Van Hallen
wakes her up every night playing in his sleep.this is true!

It seemed to increasingly happen to me as well over the past few years, waking up with cramps in my fingers, particularly my left hand. I am told it is not arthritis. I now make a conscious effort to keep my fingers outstretched instead of balled up in a fist when falling asleep. It seems to help.

Don't know about dreaming, but I do know that ibuprofen is my new best friend. I have bad elbows and hands that like to knot up. I find that a single 200mg ibuprofen before I play, and another after makes an amazing difference. I am completely pain free.
