Tough call.
As I have a 1537 I don't think the 1718 would stand a chance.
As I have a 84C I don't think the 85C would stand a chance.
So...
Option #1 - buy both and sell the one(s) you don't like
Option #2 - buy neither, get a 1537 or 84C
Option #3 - buy the 1718 and then wonder what the 85C would have been like
Option #4 - buy the 85C and then wonder what the 1718 would have been like
As you can see the only sensible option is #1.
Hope that helps! |

(p.s. buy the strat) |

Location: Colorado Rocky Mountains | There is just something about the feel of a Strat that works for me. Upgrade the components and set it up to your liking, and it can be a marvelous tool. Leo got it right when he rolled these out, and his emphasis was in the area of electronics and production techniques, not looks and feel. Over 50 years of continuous production with no major changes speaks volumes about the design and appeal. Hey, isn't the Legend now over 40? |

(p.s. buy the strat) TJ, someone once said,"you can never have too many guitars". So,,,why not? |
