The interesting thing about the 6 string is the arched top. Nice idea but it never sounded very good. The arch made the tops too stiff.

Bill, do you remember these two from the days of testing the adamases at the factory..I think the 12 string was the only prototype adamas 12 string before serial number 26??
I can see what your talking about the archtop making the guitar too stiff and not sounding that good.The 12 string actually sounds wonderful......I never really play them much,just a piece of "ovation history".
