methinks I have been a bad influence. This weekend a friend went to the music store. Sat down in front of the acoustic rack. Commenced to playing guitars with the goal of choosing one as a work guitar. He narrowed it down to a Martin D-28, a G series Tak and a Celebrity 247... He played plugged and un-plugged.... He walked away with a new Celebrity. I asked him how he settled on the Celeb.... He said...."It had the best overall sound." This is from a guy who said he could never own a roundback... because it wasn't made of wood. But he chose with his ears not his stereotypes. How cool is that?

it is great when people let their ears decide.

Maybe some of those imports aren't as bad as some of us, myself included, think they are.

I have to admit a certain bias... however, when I played his new guitar, I closed my eyes and honestly could not tell the difference between that and my Elite special. It really is a good guitar.

I got the same comment from a guy today on my '86 shallow bowl. He said: "wow, that thing has a lot of volume, suprising all the bass." Im a convert too! Its different from a dreadnought, but notes have punch and more resonance. Don
