Location: North Carolina, USA | Hi - I am new to this board. Lots of great info.
I have a 1988-P Collectors Series whose serial number is 1710. However the ovation web site states that only 1177 of these models were made. Can anyone explain?
Thanks for any info --- |

Location: Converse, Texas | I have a 2000 COllector's edition, number 127. It has an Australian Lacewood top. VERY sweet! I couldn't find on the website how many of those were made. Can anyone tell me?

Hizz,
Check out the Ovation Web Site I would think that more recent years would have more accurate data. |

I'm still trying to find out what the (M) on my signature GC Ovation is serial# M293 on my 1127-4 so far it is rumor'd that Mama Campbell, (the greatgrand daughter of Sandy Campbell), was bootleggin' some on the side and drove moon shine up to Glen, got 'em real drunk and had him sign the bowl stickers in Red ink.

Not as odd as 719 1/2 would have been.
And talking about collectors, the next Ovation collectors should be the folklore they showed at NAMM, but with an Adamas top (multiple soundhole). It would play hell with my marriage because I'd have to convince my wife to let me spend major money on a new guitar, but it would be worth it. Also, enclosed gold tuners. And a reverse blueburst top (as long as I'm working on a dream guitar).

Location: 6 String Ranch | It used to be this way. The collectors was introduced at NAMM in Jan and the order book was closed after the Frankfort show, Marchish. However many orders that were taken was the total for that year, hence the odd number for totals. I can't say what they've done after 98 but doubt it's much different. |
