Location: puerto vallarta, mexico | some of the ukII models have a solid metal ovation bridge assembly, and the screw heads for adjusting the intonation are obstructed by the bridge pickup shroud. has anyone discovered a simple way to make this adjustment without disassembly? |

Location: Scotland | Russ, This is a major design fault, caused by the pickup surround of the bridge pickup obstructing the saddle-screws. The only way to easily adjust the saddles is to raise the action until the screw-heads are above the pickup surround, then guess, move it back to playing position & check. It's pointless trying to intonate the guitar with the action up, as action has an effect on intonation. Fortunately my own UK11 has the earlier Ovation bridge which adjusts from the back, rather than the Schaller bridge which adjusts from the front, but I've worked on a couple of later UK11s, so I know what a pain in the ass it is.

Location: puerto vallarta, mexico | thanks paul. as intonation isn't something that isn't set regularly, i thought of removing the bridge pickup to do it. the gold shaller style bridge sure looks good but does create a hair puller. |

Location: 6 String Ranch | Russ, It's a real pain on the bollocks, isn't it? On the later ones that had the Schaller bridge the rear pickup ring was routed out so there was a little room to get in there sideways with a screw driver. It still wasn't easy. As you said, it's good you don't have to do it often. |
