OFC Members Are Strongly Cautioned This Website is Rated GFT (Gibson/Fender Tolerant). While most of the guitars listed and pictured are Ovations, there are a few "off" brands featured as well. If your computer is not GFT compliant or if you're afraid your keyboard may erupt in flames while viewing such material, please take the necessary precautions.
I still need to finish nearly half of the guitar pages and I'll be working on that today between touchdowns and instant replays. Let me know what you think. |

Location: SoCal | Excellent pics and info. I'll look forward to reading about the rest of the guitars tonight. As to the non Ovation guitars, there are a lot of great non O's out there. Ovations just happen to be my personal preference. But if somebody gave me a beautiful Strat or a Lowden, I'd smile and say thank you very much. In the immortal words of that great philosopher, J.T. Kirk, "Young minds, fresh ideas. Be tolerant". |

I don't care what it says on the headstock, I just want to play good guitars. |

Location: Central Texas | I do hope y'all (that's Texan for yous guys) realize that I give you alot more credit than that. That was just an attempt at humor. :) Anyone that's as passionate about guitars as the folks here appreciate them in many forms.
Did a few more pages yesterday but after the shame and humiliation of the Cowboys game last night, I just went to bed in disgust. I'll get the three roundbacks up today and if the sun comes out, maybe a couple more guitars (LP and beater Viper) will get photographed.
Hope you guys enjoy, I'm having fun with it. |

Location: The Great Pacific Northwest | Nice collection. For the record, I don't think the UltraGS was ever in a "3-single coil" config, but rather in a very smart "2 singles and a humbucker" where the humbucker (bridge) was mounted at a slant. It also had a phase switch, which makes this one really flexible guitar.

Location: Central Texas | Mr. Ovation, I knew I saw that thing about the GS having three single coils somewhere. This sound familiar:
"The pickups used were Dimarzio single(S) coil and humbuckers(H) and came in configurations ranging from a single humbucker, to S-S-H, S-S-S."
:D
I got the rest of the pic pages up today and if the sun holds out until tomorrow I'll get a couple more up. Thanks for the nice comments, y'all. |

Location: The Great Pacific Northwest | Yep indeedy... My only mistake was thinking I was wrong :)
- 3 singles..... check
- 2 singles and a slanted sumthucker.... check
- 2 humbuckers.. yepper
- 1 humbucker (for real men)
All of these configs were available with Kahler Locking trem system or a Wilkinson (strat) syle trem. |

Location: Houston, TX | Hey, I love my GS (2 singles and a slanted
Hickseeker for $175 in an Austin pawn shop 2 years ago). I think they are under-rated. We know about the buzz Homme has created with the thick one. The rarity of the GP has accelarated that hububb. I'm curious about the production ratio of GS to GP. Miles? |

Location: Central Texas | Thanks for clearing that up seadubktu. :) Miles' 1 bumhucker real man config works better for me than cwk2's 1 single. But I like my two just fine, thank you very much (although I do wish mine had the coil tap I've seen referenced).
Speaking of the GP, I walked past the TV last night while my wife was watching a replay of the Concert for New York. Was John Mellencamp's guitarist playing one? I only got a couple of glimpses, but from what I saw it could've been. |

Location: The Great Pacific Northwest | On the GP... This is one of the most elusive pieces. I believe many were made, although I don't have numbers... but in 10 years I have only KNOWN of about 6 (I have one). By contrast, the PF-22, only a few were made, and I have 5 6-strings and 6 basses. Not bragging here, just noteing that a guitar that wasn't even a production run is easier to find than an Ultra GP. |

Or course a single single coil is very manly but only in the right applications. |
