Location: NJ | If you have not noticed there has been a major update to the reference section. There is now a list of every Ovation guitar made with the features listed and the original MSRP. This list can help you in determining age and cost of your instrument. It was provided to us by Kathy Johnson at Kaman. Miles coded it and I believe made it searchable. He can fill you in on the details. |

Location: The Great Pacific Northwest | Thanks.. I am going to try an update it to link to pictures of each instrument at some point, but I know for example the solid bodies (like the GS's and GP's and Basses we've been talking about lately..) are all listed as "Ultra SOlid Body" which unless you know the model number is a little awkward.
To search, just bring up the page and use the browsers "FIND" or "FIND IN PAGE" feature (under EDIT usually).

Location: puerto vallarta, mexico | wow!!! now we really have some data. thanks for all of the time and energy that went into this. i have an eclipse and the original price floored me. why were they so muck less expensive than their fancier brothers. allot of my friends call it my bb king ovation with a nicer headstock. |

Location: The Great Pacific Northwest | I kinda like the eclipse as it is essentially a tornado with a tougher finish. I would at some point like to take the thunderhead electronics (which were some really nice pickups) and make a hybrid. Maybe if I find a trashed thunderhead someplace. |

Location: puerto vallarta, mexico | al my breadwinner has the same tough black finish. i think it is the gothic look 30 years early. i remember now from an earlier thread that is why some ovations were painted opaque. |
