Hi all! I'm a new poster here and surprised to see such an active board. I have recently been offered a Matrix (1632-4) for $150.00 Canadian.
I haven't seen her yet though so I don't know the condition! I saw in the reference section of this site that this model was built in about 1979.It retailed at that time for $335.00 (I assume that is US dollars.) This(335) seems to be at the low end (price wise) for Ovations in general. I would appreciate any info. or advice that any board members can offer. Is it a solid wood top? Is is prone to bridge lifting as discussed on the forum recently? The reference section says that this model is a "deep bowl"; I would be playing acoustically for the most part (not plugged in).Is the deep bowl a good idea in this case?
Ant info would be appreciated.

There's been a lot of posts about the Matrix since the OFC started. Try a search on Matrix & Medallion. Post specific questions if you don't find everything you need and those of us who can, will try to help.

There is a "story" of sorts about the name, but basically it's a deep bowl with an Aluminum neck. I have a Medallion and frankly if it's in good shape, you can't beat it... literally the thing is almost industructable. I've been pretty abusive to mine since 1975 and it still plays fine and the bridge is fine.
