Use the "search" feature at the top of the page and put in "Amplifier" or "Acoustic Amplifier" as search words. You will find several discussions on the subject. :D

Congratulations, krock. The search here should yield you some good info, as our friend suggested. I found some good poop while looking for amp info on "Epinions". Plug that into a search engine, or it could be under epinions.com

BTW - I just got me a CV68. I wasn't looking for the best amp at this time, so I just went with a 2nd hand Peavy Rage 158 on eBay ($44). The stuff I got from Epinions leads me to believe it will be just fine for a beginner like me, as a practice amp. What finish is your Viper?

You may also want to check out the Line 6 GuitarPort product (assuming you have a PC!). It gives you a bunch of different amps and cabinets in one piece of kit - I just bought one and I love it.

PLaying that viper it's a toss up between a Marshall full stack or an Ashdown Reso 1 acoustic amp.

If you're going to recommend a Marshall Stack I'll have to warn against the three chords of destruction as described in Mel Bay's "The Last Three Chords You Will Need To Know" as they are particularly destructive when played through a Marshall Stack. Stadiums have been known to vaporize, and one ill planned imitation of Woodstock "disappeared" approximately 73,000 new hippies who, unfortunately, were never missed. The only time they failed was at a reunion of the "Dead" band where the inpenetrable cloud of smoke absorbed the force. An inadvertant playing of the chords through a Marshall stack could have the same effect on a neighborhood as a small tornado.
