I found a black Adamas 1597 at a local music store that they what to get rid of because it's been in stock for over a year. Their willing to let it go for $1088. Can anybody tell me if this really is a deal or is that model a dog for some reason. I've had my heart set on a Balladeer but then this showed up. Any input would be appreciated.

Good deal for local store!! Does it include the case?

Some online stores are selling it for around $1050-1149, including the deluxe hard case (MSRP $160). No sales tax.

I just paid $1125 for a 2001 Adamas 1597RG. I felt it was a fair deal.

I have a 1597,and I like it a lot. However, before you do the deed, try to find a W597 (CVT) and check it out as well. Each has it's own personality and strong points.
