Are all Adamas made with wood braces, or some made with carbon-fibre bracing? I would think that would make a significant difference. Since I'm one of the BFLG, this will likely remain in the realm of esoteric information.

I'm also interested in how the bracing varied between CVT, SMT, and the original tops.

Well there you go, then the Academy would be the only Ovation/Adamas acoustic guitar with out wooden braces!

I wonder, why they changed the Adamas bracing after a few thousand specimen. The early ones (up to circa #4000) had a lateral-brace which is missing on the later ones.

Any ideas?

The compression was lengthwise, not width wise.

Does the SlotHead have it as well? (I assume it would).

Not having an access door, I can't see inside of mine . .

You've got to get real small Cliff, and go in through one of the 22 holes..

Boy, the cross brace on the first pic looks like they cut the slots out with a pair of pliers.

Yes, it is the sameon the slothead, at least on mine. The lateral bace in CR's photo looks percision cut with a laser guided mitre-saw compared to the one on #42. Mine looks like it was fabricated by mice trying to find an access route to the pantry. But you can't argue that it sure friggin sounds GOOD ...

Thanks for the conjectural analysis, esteemed colleagues! And, especially, to Karl, for that exquisite image of the Adamas bracing. I never knew they were tapered like that! Good to know, since I may be replicating a cedar-top cutaway, one-of-these-days.
