One of the things of mine that mysteriously got "lost" in the divvy-ing up of property in my divorce was my copy of "The History of the Ovation Guitar" that I had bought when it first came out.

Last year I bought a replacement copy at this obscure little book store here in New Jersey. A good friend of mine had seen it and was admiring it and was considering finding himself a copy.

I had read in previous posts the mention of a "hardcover" version of this book. Does anyone know if these are still in publication and/or where I might be able to procure one? I was thinking of giving my friend the softcover version that I have and keeping the hardcover in my bookcase with all my music books.

Any info would be appreciated.

thx,

The hardcover was a limited run of 1000 books. They were used for promotions and other stuff. They're all gone now. The books came 25 to the box and I had heard that somehow several boxes wound up at a Florida gas station where there was curiosity about them. That gas station has since been sold but I think a box or two made it into a storage garage. I heard that there was one left. Give your friend the soft cover. Your inscription will be lots of fun to write.
