ovation Deacon 12 string distortion

However, I recently took it out and put two new 9 volt batteries in it yet it gives a distortion sound on several settings. Isn't that supposed to be a sign that the batteries are low or does it take special batteries, etc.? Mr. Ovation Posted 2002-11-23 9:52 PM (#215861 - in reply to #215860) Subject: Re: ovation Deacon 12 string distortion Joined: December 2001 Posts: 7236 Location: The Great Pacific Northwest That is a sign of low batteries, so make sure they really are good, and although I am sure you were carful, that you didn't either pinch or break the battery leads when putting them in, The older wires were brittle, and eventhough the plastic covering over the contacts (where they attach to the batter) may be intact, it is worth checking the wires are actuually still intact.
