I just purchased a "New" 6778 LX. It looks pristine and I have no complaints with the guitar. However, The model# and S/N marked in the owners manual does not match the string tag hanging on the guitar. No big deal right? So just to verify that I register the correct S/N I search the guitar for the stamped S/n. There is none. I thought while searching for a new LX that I saw the S/N was on the back of the heads. Not on this one. Has anyone seen any other USA built guitars without the S/n stamped on the head? Thanks

I would give a call to Ovation on this one. There should be a serial there.

I know the number on the headstock can be hard to make out, especially if someone had used some scratch remover or polish on it. That would be a tough call as to which number is right.
