Location: Canton GA | Will a Ovation hold up tuned to E? Or do I need
to tune to D what is the factories opinion I am buying an Ovation 12 string.A good video
with a Ovation 12 string... Check out Dave Mason Live at the Palace with the late Jim Krieger on 6
string this is a great video to play along to
Dave just strums away singing with that great voice of his, his new DVD Kuve at Sunrise is good to but he is playing an Alvarez and it does not sound no where near as good as his Ovation did |

Location: 6 String Ranch | Dave Mason used to tune to an open E which added even a touch more tension.
No need to go to D, unless you've got a long neck 12 string. |

Location: Vancouver, Canada | I've had a 1115-4 12 string tuned to E for about thirty years now - still works just fine, no bridge lifting, little belly, action and neck are great.
Used to use light or medium strings of whatever brand were around - now I use Plectrums: lighter, easier to play, last longer, expensive. |
