Ive been searching for a Custom Legend 1769-AD5 for a long time now but i stumbled upon a 1719-5 and surprisingly it looks exactly the same as the "69" does...now i dont know if it has the solo circuit and electronic specs that the Al Di Meola series has but it seems to be identical and less in cost so what im wondering is if it was the 1769-AD5 before it became a the Signature "Al Di Meola" Series???? If someone has an answer that would be great.

I believe that it's the solo circuit and general appearance that make the AD5, the AD5. Except for the solo circuit, it's a custom legend.

I think the 1769 is a cutaway and the 1719 is not. Also the 1719 does not have the on board electronic tuner. Dave
