I've been hanging around this forum for awhile since I was in the market for an Ovation guitar.

And, here's the rest of the story:

Knew exactly what I wanted.... Black 1867 Legend with the OP-40 package. Had to be real... I saw it on the Ovation website. Took all the usual tours of the net, but couldn't find the OP-40. Living near the 4th largest city, Houston, I figured I'd go find one and check it out. So, I wrote down all the "dealers" listed on the website. Guess what... not a single 1867 Legend in this town with or without the OP-40.

My two favorite stores (authorized Ovation dealers) have been offered the opportunity to GET me this guitar. My first offers me the price of
$ 1,150 drive out (that's with a case and tax). The second gave me a price of $ 950 drive out.

Have any of you any experience with the OP-40? Is it any better than the OP-24 +C more prevelent on the internet dealers and e-Bay?

I own a PRS McCarty, so I hang around the PRS board alot. Many have said they own and love the Legend. I respect their opinions. Now, I'm looking for yours... the Ovation Fan Club.

Thanks for a great board, and hopefully I'll be "plugged in" in due time.

Later,

Can't help you in your search (haven't seen one here in Cowtown). Good luck on getting your guitar.
