Haven't seen one like this before

The Tailpiece is non-original but check out the Thunderhead-style bound neck, with dot rather than diamond inlays. Every Tornado I've seen has had an unbound neck. I can't recall that shape pickguard on a Tornado either

From the serial number, that's an early Tornado, from about 1968. The pickguard is just like the one on my Thead. But you're right, I too have never seen a bound Tornado neck.

I also have a bound neck tornado with dot inlays.I thought mine was the only one as i had never seen another..The only thing about mine is that its a gloss black tornado..I have never seen another one of those...I was going to list it on e-bay soon.If anyone is interested ,email me at samova@aol.com.....
