Hello. I have a highway one strat gathering dust because I only have a and a crate acoustic amp, so of course I'm missing out on 90% of what an electric can do. Thinking of picking up a 30 watt, or so, electric amp just as a toy. Anyone have any experience of the line 6 brand? Let me know, you folks often give me good advice. Thanks.

We have 4 really good teenage players at church and they all own line 6 spiders. They like them because they are loaded with effects. And they do sound good.

But playing the Deacon, Viper and Tornado have shown me how great a good guitar can sound without a lot of effects. But with a Strat, you'll probably want some distortion and reverb. I still use the Fender Deluxe 85 I've had for almost 20 years.

Never used a Line 6... But I have a Crate GFX and a Roland MicroCube.
Problem with Crate, the effects are not really adjustable.
Whereas I do like the Roland system. Along with the 2w MC, they have 'Cubes' up to 60 watts.
I also have a Hughes & Kettner, (Now on eBarf) , that is a really basic 15 watter with OD and Reverb that sounds really nice with both straight electrics and my Ovations.
I guess the major question is what you want it for, how loud it needs to be, and do you wanna do the echoplex part of 'Crimson and Clover'?

Not sure what your budget is, but the new SuperChamp XD from Fender gets rave reviews for a practice amp. Good effects and really nails the classic fender sound. Would go great with your strat.
