Location: Phoenix AZ | Did I do something stupid? I have a Balladeer that I wanted to lower the action on just a wee bit. There were no shims under the saddle and it's a Thinline saddle pickup, so sanding the bottom of the saddle was not an option. Soooo ... I carefully and very gently sanded the top of the saddle, maintaining the same shape and profile. Seems to have worked out OK. I probably should have asked this board first, but was this an acceptable thing to do? Dave |

Location: 6 String Ranch | One should always ask premission first. Of course then there are those of us who have figured out it's easier to ask forgiveness after we've done exactally what we wanted to do anyway. Taking it off the top is no problem if you keep the same intonation. |
