Joined: December 2001 Posts: 7248 Location: The Great Pacific Northwest It is a MIDI synth. Not a bad one either. Again a little ahead of its time, but there are new ones that track a bit better now. I have played similar units and have a couple of GTM-6 units with pickups, I just haven't wired any of the GTM units up yet. I have used Roland and the 'ol Casio midi guitar (not the plastic thing, but the real guitar that had a MIDI interface). Both were ok for my purposes.
