Well how appropriate, it seems the 1000th member is also, if I recall correctly, the first person "officially" informed that the site exists one year ago. Now I know he has been lurking, but I guess he needed to make a grand entrance :)

Welcome John

Guys

Congrats on the 1000th, and the stars align if it's someone you know. You also reminded me that my Musician's Friend catalog has an ad for a "D500 Django", "A reproduction of the Selmer-Maccaferrri-style jazz guitar Django played ...top of selsct solid spruce...rosewood back and sides...mahogany neck...24 fret extension fingerboard of genuine ebony...maple/walnut/maple purfling on all edges..."$699 with hardshell case.
Your mention of a '37 D'Angelico reminded me, has anybody had any experience with this reproduction?

Again, congrats on 1000!

Bailey

FYI Musician's Friend was bought by Guitar Center last year. Also Mars Music.

Guitar Center has an affiliation with Musician's Friend, but no connection to the former Mars Music. For those who may be interested, Guitar Center also owns InstrumentExchange.com

Musician's Friend web site said that they had bought Mars Music about 1 1/2 weeks ago.

I suppose when you go to MarsMusic.com and it sends you to Musician's Friend- there must be some kind of post-mortem connection- I stand corrected
