Location: canada | hey, everyone. i'm 18 and i have an ovation preacher solid body electric guitar. i got it from my brother who got it from a pawn shop. it still sounds great and i haven't met someone who doesn't like the sound of it, but the thing is no one has ever heard of it. i believe it was made around 1972-75, but i'm not sure. i was wondering if anyone could tell me a bit about it and if its worth anything. anyways, feel free to email me about with info

Location: The Great Pacific Northwest | Lots of folks around here have heard of it. I believe you have the year correct. Two humbuckers, stereo and mono outputs. It rocks, not much else to say. |

Location: Ilinois | Preachers was one of the eletric guitars I allways wanted when I was a teenager but never had the money. Now the ones I find are either beat or over priced. I found one at a local Music go round recently. It was way over priced and the fret board suffered from dring out and was severly cracked. Back in the late 70's and early 80's, it wasn't unusual for guitar shops to stock Ovation solid bodies. |

Keep checking eBay for "Ovation Preacher". You'll find one or two per week at least, and they'll be soundly priced. I lucked out about a year ago and found mine near mint for $320. If you get one near that condition and have it set up properly I assure you it's worth it, and more... and should you not like it, you'll no doubt be able to find another buyer either here or on eBay for about the same you paid for it in the first place! :) |
