Not that I've been in every store... But is the 2003 Collectors' out? What does it look like? I just checked the Ovation web site... Hell they think it's 2002 still.
The large box stores in the Boston area don't have Ovation Lit. Is the 03" stuff out?
I've said this before. If I wanted to get info on an Ovation and send it to my brother... It's not easy. You have to work to get info on Ovations. This is not good.

I just found some pic's. in Elderly web site. I also found the Jan. 9th news release.

Hi;
We have been cranking out 2003's.
The epilets are inlaid into the top. and they are all a "clear finish", meaning class aaa tops. If your favorite music store does not have one call Ovation @ 1-860-379-7575.

2003 looks pretty good, except the ugly epilets.
It still uses OP40, first used on 2002 & now standard on Legend & Elite. Don't know why 2003 does not have OP50, which is on Custom Legend & Custom Elite now.

Have never seen/played one in person, but overall I think it's a nice looking guitar. I especially like the look of the binding. I have to agree w/Ralph though in regards to the epaulettes. The original design that this mimics was a "mosaic" of different pieces of wood in a "leaf" motif. What they've done here is to just copy the basic OUTLINE of the leaves into one piece with the soundholes in it.
My Opinion: They should've went with a shape that cleanly compliments the array of soundholes. What they have here (to me) resembles a shotgun wound.

Other than that, I think it's really nice guitar.

Oh, I'm SURE that it is!
What's not to like about inlaid walnut!? Very cool!!
I was just expressing an opinion from a design point of view. I design for a living and have learned to accept the critiquing of my designs. I've also learned to express them.
Just "calling 'em as I sees 'em".

This really IS a nice looking guitar, though.

Does anybody know what they're going for?
