Location: Cleveland, Ohio | Hi, Although I am a new member to this group I have been an Ovation player since the early 80's. I have never had a problem with any of the many Ovations I have owned through the years until now. Trying to find a solution to my problem is how I found this club.
The battery box broke on my youngest Ovation. Being a professional technical person I had no problem removing the broken battery box and getting my guitar ready to accept the new one. The problem began when I tried to get the new part.
On the web-site, Ovation states to contact my local dealer to order replacement parts. In my area the only dealer is Guitar Center since they've run everyone else out of business. Guitar Center is not a service driven company to say the least and they have been dragging there feet for over a week and the part is still not on order.
I have e-mailed and called Ovation myself and they have not yet answered either my e-mails or phone messages. So my question is: Has anyone else needed service and got it? If so, how did you do that? |

Location: Cleveland, Ohio | Just an update. I just received a phone message from John at Ovation who told me he will mail the replacement battery box to me.
This confirms that the problem I've been having trying to get service was comming from the dealers/service providers in my area not from Ovation themselves. |

Location: Cleveland, Ohio | Final update. The part arrived from Ovation this morning and I've installed it in my guitar. All is right with the world again.
BTW, After giving the manager at GC a piece of my mind he rushed a replacement part to me. Although I had the correct part in my hand to show him what I needed, they still managed to get me the wrong part.
I suppose the moral of the story is don't waist your time and effort trying to get service from the dealer.
Ovation took care of me lickity split and sent the correct part. |

Location: Las Cruces, NM | We have had long and anguished discussions of the demise of the local, dependable, music store. If they had went out like the astronauts the whole nation would grieve, but they faded away like the possibilty of a friend at the payroll loan shop. Maybe we can make the difference through this web site. |
