Glossed Neck

Just my personal preference. Was wondering if anyone on this board had sent a satin guitar back to the factory and had them gloss the neck and headstock. Any ideas about approx. cost? Do they remove the neck from the guitar to do it? I can't seem to get use to this satin finish stuff. Kinda makes me wonder if the satin finish is a cost cutting feature. These necks just don't seem completely finished to me...Paul Hebert
