I've had my Ovation for several years now, and took for granted that someone once told me it was a 1967 model. After doing a little research recently I doubt it is from 67, but I can't figure out what it is. There is residue of an oval sticker that was once inside, but that is gone and all that is left is a small rectangular sticker above the reside that says "Ovation 014522". Does this mean anything? Is there some other number that I can use to Crack the Code? Thanks all.

Sounds like an early 1970's model. That would fit with the serial number as well as the missing oval label inside. The back of the body is probably textured as well. If it was a 1967 model, it would have a shinny bowl.

I believe you are right. But what I am still confused about is that if I'm looking in Six Digit Series, 72 stops at 007000, and 74 begins at 020001. There does not appear to be anything in between, which is where my serial number would be. If you have any other thoughts or input that would be grand! Thanks again!

It may be Korean. The numbers are not the same as US models.

It's a 5 digit code indicating manufacture between Feb 1970 and May 1972. That was also when Ovation used the oval silver labels inside the soundhole.
